The Island School

The Island School has been operating on and teaching high school students about sustainable living and design since 1999.
Island School students spend 100 days alongside educators, scientists and engineers on our green campus on Cape Eleuthera, The Bahamas, where lessons about marine ecology, ecotourism, waste management and sustainable design are imparted upon them, and they are challenged to think about their daily actions in terms of how they are impacting their surroundings and their environment.
As we attempt to carry out minimally impactful lives, we look towards the garments that we choose to wear. By choosing to purchase and wear clothing that recycles used materials, we can eliminate some of the waste that would otherwise find its way to landfills or into our oceans.
