THE RESPONSIBLE COMPANY FOR EVERYONE

Leaders in Education and Leaders in Sustainability

Since 1838, Duke University has a long and prestigious history of developing future leaders through highly respected research and education. They also take a leading role in proactively implementing sustainable initiatives through their iconic campus in Durham, NC.

Since 2024 the Duke University Bookstore and Recover have worked together on a truly sustainable collegiate apparel program that reinforces school spirit, increases customer engagement, and positively impacts both their bottom line and our planet.

"We have been very pleased with our partnership with Recover. Being able to offer a recycling option to our students/customers has greatly enhanced our ability to promote oursustainability efforts across the Duke campus. We are happy to now be able to play a small part in improving textile circularity in our increasingly disposable economy. Recover has been a great partner through providing personalized drop-off bins, a Duke tailored marketing/information message, a legitimate channel for garment recycling and quality recycled garments at reasonable prices."

- Brian Burtram, Director of Stores, Duke University

The partnership with Duke University is a perfect example of how Recover’s 360 Closed Loop Apparel Recycling Program is being used to support a more sustainable future for students, educators, alumni, fans and, most importantly, our environment.
