We have been a mission driven company since our inception in 2010, when we set out to make the most environmentally friendly and socially responsible products possible.  Over a decade later, we are proud to be leaders at the forefront of the sustainable apparel industry.  To us, a big part of sustainability is durability, and at Recover, we build products that stand the test of time.  But we also recognize that all apparel, including even your most well-loved Recover tees, doesn’t last forever and will eventually need to be retired.

That's where our new Recover Closed Loop Program comes in - we are excited to offer anyone and everyone a way to keep your old t-shirts out of the landfill by giving them infinite life through a fully circular textile recycling system.

To make it simple, let’s break this down into 1, 2, 3… Problem, Solution, Impact.

1. The Problem:

The average American throws away 81 lbs of apparel each year.  Multiplied by every American, there is an unfathomable amount of textile waste entering landfills, incinerators, and our environment.  In fact, when you multiply 81 lbs of apparel thrown away by the 329.5 million population of the US, that means that 26.7 billion lbs of apparel is thrown away every year in the United States alone.  While landfills emit large amounts of greenhouse gasses that amplify climate change, simultaneously, immense amounts of water, energy, other finite resources, and carbon emissions go into new apparel being made, consumed, and thrown away every year.  There’s a big disconnect here- as individuals, we have to consider durable and well-made apparel when we shop, and for the apparel industry, we need to start making things to be upcycled, and support a system that can re-incorporate recycled items into a supply chain.

2. The Solution:

Our Closed Loop program allows us to take back any old tees, not just Recover tees, and put them back into our supply chain, saving water, energy, and other finite resources, and curbing demand for landfills and their related climate change emissions.  We create new gear with your recycled tees.  This is huge in terms of accessibility for anyone to become a part of the solution instead of the problem.

Want to take part in our Closed Loop program? Here’s how.

1. Purchase the Closed Loop Return Label and we will send you a compostable mailer.

2. Fill up your compostable mailer with as many tees as you can, and send it back to us.

3. We recycle your old tees into new gear.

4. You receive $10 store credit to use on a future purchase!

**We also offer options for our wholesale partners.  If your business has excess tees that need to be recycled, please email hello@recoverbrands.com for more information about our B2B Closed Loop options.

3. The Impact:

By recycling old garments into new gear we are able to keep apparel waste out of the landfill, reduce carbon emissions, save water and energy, while also supporting local jobs in North Carolina.

Get Started today!  Let's work together to close the loop and keep apparel waste out of the landfill.
