Since 1946, the Museum of Life and Science has inspired curiosity and learning through science, nature, and animal exhibits. Located in Durham, North Carolina, the 84-acre campus includes a two-story science center, one of the largest butterfly conservatories on the East Coast, and immersive outdoor exhibits.

Sustainability is a core part of the Museum’s mission and operations. Organization staff works to reduce environmental impact through multiple efforts like water conservation, recycling and waste management programs, sustainable exhibit design, and partnering with Recover on sustainable gift shop merchandise.
